Christopher Columbus
Christopher Columbus was born between August and October of 1451. He died on May 20, 1506 at the age of 54, from a heart attack. Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer. He sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. He made a total of four trips to the Caribbean and South America. He got stuck twice in the Roaring 40`s.
The First Trip:
Columbus sailed for King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella of Spain. Columbus lead a trip with three boats.
In 1474 Christopher Columbus had a great idea. Even though India was to the east, Christopher Columbus believed that you can sail rather to the west to get to India. Columbus didn`t have enough money (funds) to carry out his idea. So in he went to ask the Spanish Goverment ( or at that time King + Queen). At the time they said "No".
So he had to wait, and wait and wait. In 1492 King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella agreed to pay for his idea. On August 3rd 1492 Columbus finally set out on his adventure.
